Skye Chase 2012 OM Team at World Finals

Picture
The Skye Chase OM team worked very hard on their Odyssey of the Mind solution in Problem 5, Odyssey Angels, in Division II.

The team won 1st place at the Regional Competition at West Potomac Hight School and were honored with the highly selective award for exceptional creativity, Ranatra Fusca Creativity Award*.

In April 2012, the team competed in the Virginia State Competition against eight other regional champions and won 1st place becoming the Virginia State Champions for their problem and division.

In May 2012, Skye Chase Academy represented Virignia at the Odyssey of the MInd World Finals.  In order to compete, the team had to raise over $9,000 for travel and food expenses.  They worked hard together and through support of their parents, yard sales, community preformances, and bake sales they raised the funds.  They traveled two days to Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa.  After three days of competition, their long term solution placed 8th and overall the team took 13th out of 41 domestic and international champion teams.
