Odyssey of the Mind is an international educational program that provides
creative problem-solving opportunities for students from kindergarten through
college. Thousands of teams from throughout the world participate in the

Skye Chase Academy - 2013 World Champions

Skye Chase Academy's Odyssey of the Mind Team are the 2013 World Champions
for Problem 5, Division II. They tied for 1st Place at the World Finals
competition against 62 domestic and international teams.
The team and coaches would like to thank the amazing support from Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Alexandria, Virginia; Home Educators of Virginia (HEAV), team sponsors (Ray, Marlene & Sheri Brinker), De Novo Homeschool Network and Skye Chase friends and families. OM at Skye Chase Academy
Skye Chase 2012 OM Team at World Finals

The Skye Chase OM team worked very hard on
their Odyssey of the Mind solution in Problem 5, Odyssey Angels, in
Division II.
The team won 1st place at the Regional Competition at West Potomac Hight School and were honored with the highly selective award for exceptional creativity, Ranatra Fusca Creativity Award*.
In April 2012, the team competed in the Virginia State Competition against eight other regional champions and won 1st place becoming the Virginia State Champions for their problem and division.
In May 2012, Skye Chase Academy represented Virignia at the Odyssey of the MInd World Finals. In order to compete, the team had to raise over $9,000 for travel and food expenses. They worked hard together and through support of their parents, yard sales, community preformances, and bake sales they raised the funds. They traveled two days to Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. After three days of competition, their long term solution placed 8th and overall the team took 13th out of 41 domestic and international champion teams.

Skye Chase 2011 OM Team at Virginia State Championship
The Skye Chase OM team competed in Problem 2, Full Circle, in
Division II.
The team won 1st place at the Regional Competition at West Potomac Hight School and advance to the Virginia State Championship. At the Virginia State Competition against nine other regional champions and our team won fourth place in their problem and division.
